In magazines, newspapers and radio, on television and on the Internet, the media bombards us with environmental issues everyday, one major of which is the persistent and worsening condition of global warming, as brought by inevitable air pollution.
And while air pollution is hugely caused by the harmful chemicals that factories and production plants emit, there is no question that transport vehicle smoke also participates in polluting the atmosphere. Seeing it from a clear, palpable perspective, as normal individuals, the worst thing that we can do in contributing to air pollution is everyday car driving. To reduce cars, hence, is a great environmental project.
While scientific studies do not stop in showing the alarming environmental effects that global warming creates, the truth is in our day to day lives, we do not worry about these things. We go to work or school, pay the rent, the bills and other dues, have some leisure time, face problems, solve them, and that’s it. Air pollution does not directly affect us yet enough so we can show such passionate care.
We are not asked to solve air pollution like some kind of chip in our shoulder. We are just asked to do small things that can contribute to minimize the growth of the pollution. And one of these small things is to reduce cars. We can reduce cars on the road by taking off a day or two of driving in a week, and taking the public transportation instead. Also, we can help by ensuring that our car is maintained and not prone to excessive smoke belching. Engineering our car with new energy-saving vehicle technologies and alternative petroleum products can also really help.
Ultimately, buying hybrid cars that greatly minimize pollutant emissions is one colossal way of showing our love to the environment.
